Best Makeup Academy in Delhi — Academy vs Masterclass vs 1:1

If you searched "best makeup academy in Delhi" or "best makeup artist in Delhi to learn makeup", you are deciding between three different things — a 6-month full-time diploma at an academy, a 5-day hands-on masterclass with a working artist, and 1:1 mentorship. This guide is for aspiring MUAs choosing where to actually spend their training money in 2026.

Academy vs masterclass vs 1:1 — what each is for

Full-time academy diploma (3–9 months)

Programs at VLCC, Lakmé Academy, BlushingBelle, and similar are designed for foundational training — sanitisation, brush handling, basic face mapping, the first 100 hours of product fluency. Strong if you are starting from zero. Weaker on real-bride day-of execution, kit-building for a working artist, or the business of bridal MUA work.

3 to 5-day masterclass with a working artist

A 3–5 day intensive (Soni Singh Artistry, Aashmeen Munjaal Star Academy, and a handful of senior Delhi NCR artists offer these) is for MUAs who already have foundational training and want to specialise — typically in bridal, mature-skin, or destination work. You learn from a working artist's real kit, with real bridal models, and walk away with documented techniques you can monetise immediately.

1:1 mentorship (3–6 months, weekly)

The highest-leverage option for working MUAs ready to move from mid-tier to premium-tier — typically once you have done 30–50 paid weddings and want to refine. Available with a handful of senior Delhi artists. Expensive, slow, but the only format that bridges craft and business at the same time.

What to actually look for in a Delhi makeup academy

  1. 01Real bridal models (not classmates, not mannequins) every single day of the course.
  2. 02A working artist who teaches, not a teacher who used to do makeup.
  3. 03A documented kit-building module — the difference between a graduate and a hobbyist is the kit.
  4. 04A real-client pricing module — most academies skip this entirely.
  5. 05A small batch (8 students or fewer). Above 12, you stop getting feedback.
  6. 06A certificate of completion that other studios will recognise — ask for the certificate template before paying.
  7. 07Post-course support — at least one follow-up review session with the lead artist.

Academy red flags to walk away from

  • No model on the kit — only flat lay tutorials
  • Promises "celebrity tier" income in 6 months
  • Sells you a kit that costs ₹2 lakh before you have done a paid client
  • Doesn't name the lead artist who actually teaches the course
  • Charges placement fees on top of course fees

How Soni Singh Artistry runs the masterclass

We run 3-day and 5-day intensives, 8 students maximum, with a real bride or mature-skin model each day. Curriculum covers skin prep fundamentals, the working bridal kit, base and eye techniques, kit-building, client consultation scripts, and pricing your work for the Delhi market. Certificate of completion. A 60-minute 1:1 review session 30 days after the course. See [the Masterclass page](/masterclass) for next batch dates and how to apply.

Makeup academy / training FAQs

What is the best makeup academy in Delhi?+

For foundational training from zero, VLCC and Lakmé Academy have the largest infrastructure. For specialisation as a working MUA, a 3–5 day masterclass with a working bridal artist (Soni Singh Artistry, Aashmeen Munjaal, and similar) is higher-leverage than another semester of foundational training.

How much does a makeup course cost in Delhi?+

Foundational academy diplomas: ₹80,000 to ₹3,00,000 depending on duration. Masterclass intensives: ₹35,000 to ₹1,00,000 for 3–5 days. 1:1 mentorship: ₹1,50,000 to ₹4,00,000 for a 3–6 month engagement.

Should I do an academy first or a masterclass first?+

If you are starting from zero, do 3–6 months of foundational training first (academy or junior assistantship). Then do a specialisation masterclass once you have 10–20 paid party / engagement clients under your belt. Doing a masterclass with zero foundation is wasted money.

How long does it take to become a working bridal makeup artist?+

Realistically, 2–4 years from your first paid client to a stable bridal calendar. The first year is foundational training and party clients. Years 2–3 you build the bridal portfolio. Year 4 onwards is when pricing and waitlists start to compound.

Next masterclass batch is open for applications. We accept 8 students per batch.
