Cancellation & Refund Policy

Weddings move. People get sick. Plans change. This policy explains exactly what happens to your deposit and balance if your booking has to shift — by you, by us, or by circumstance. We have tried to write it the way we would want to read it: plain English, no fine-print traps.
1. When this policy applies
This policy applies the moment your deposit is paid and your booking is confirmed in writing by Soni Singh Artistry. Before deposit, no policy applies because no commitment exists on either side.
2. Deposit — non-refundable, transferable
The 40% deposit is non-refundable. It compensates the studio for the date we block on your behalf (during which we decline other bridal enquiries for the same weekend) and for the planning, trial preparation, and consultation hours we invest upfront.
However, the deposit is fully transferable to a future date within 12 months of the original wedding date, subject to our availability on the new date. This applies to both client-initiated changes and force-majeure changes (see Section 6).
3. If you cancel
We follow a graduated schedule based on how close to the wedding day you cancel:
- More than 90 days before the wedding — you forfeit the 40% deposit only. No further amount is owed. Any second instalment already paid is refunded within 14 working days.
- 30 to 90 days before the wedding — 60% of the total package becomes payable to compensate for the lost weekend and pre-trial work already invested. Any amount you have paid above 60% is refunded within 14 working days.
- Less than 30 days before the wedding — 100% of the total package becomes payable. At that point we have declined all other enquiries for that weekend and can no longer rebook.
4. If you change the wedding date
If you move your wedding to a different date:
- We hold your booking and apply the entire amount already paid to the new date, with no penalty, provided the new date is within 12 months of the original.
- If we are not available on your new date, the deposit converts to a credit usable against any service we offer (bridal, party, masterclass) within 12 months.
- If the new date falls outside 12 months, our standard cancellation schedule (Section 3) applies to the original date.
5. If we have to cancel
We have never cancelled a confirmed bridal booking. If something extraordinary makes it impossible for us to deliver — Soni is hospitalised, an immediate-family bereavement, a government-restricted travel zone — we will:
- Notify you immediately and personally, not by template
- Refund 100% of all amounts paid (deposit included), or — at your option — arrange a hand-picked replacement artist of equivalent calibre with our team supervising the handover
6. Force majeure (the unexpected)
For natural disasters, government-mandated lockdowns, terror incidents, or other uncontrollable events that make the wedding impossible to hold on the planned date, both sides act in good faith:
- We hold the booking and reassign to a future date within 18 months at no penalty
- If you cannot reschedule within 18 months, the deposit converts to a 50% credit usable on any of our services for up to 24 months
- No party seeks consequential damages from the other
7. Trial-only bookings
Standalone paid trials (without a wedding-day booking) are non-refundable once attended. If you need to reschedule a trial, give us at least 48 hours' notice and we will move it without penalty. Trials missed without notice may be charged in full.
8. Engagement, party, and one-off events
For non-bridal bookings (engagement, sangeet, party, family makeup, mehendi makeup), the deposit is non-refundable but transferable to any other date within 6 months, subject to availability. Cancellation within 7 days of the event forfeits the full package amount.
9. Destination weddings
For destination weddings, the travel and stay portion of your payment (flights, accommodation, buffer day) is governed by the cancellation policies of the airline and hotel concerned. We pass on whatever is refundable; non-refundable portions are non-refundable.
The makeup service portion of a destination wedding follows the schedule in Section 3.
10. Masterclass & training
Masterclass seats are limited to 8 per batch. Cancellation more than 30 days before the batch starts: full refund minus a 10% admin fee. Cancellation 14–30 days before: transferable credit to a future batch within 12 months. Cancellation under 14 days before: no refund, no transfer.
11. How to request a cancellation or change
Email sonisingh07700@gmail.com with the subject line "Cancellation" or "Date change", including your booking reference and reason. We acknowledge within 24 hours and confirm the applicable refund or credit within 7 working days.
12. Talk to us first
We are humans, you are humans, and weddings are stressful. If something has changed, tell us as early as possible — even if you are not sure yet. We will almost always find a path that works for both sides. WhatsApp is fastest: +91 93197 40040.
